Dear Matthew 10 Supporters,

After years of traveling to India, in early June I will take my first soul-winning trip to South America. There I will share the platform at meetings June 7-9 in Chaco, Argentina, led by Guillermo Maldonado. One of the most influential Hispanic Christian leaders in the world,Guillermo pastors King Jesus Ministry, a Miami church that attracts 20,000 worshipers a week. In Argentina he will teach, train and equip believers. Evening rallies open to the public will follow daytime meetings with pastors and church leaders.

Numerous people accepted Christ in early May when he spoke in Colombia. I expect to see a similar wave of conversions on our upcoming trip. Pastor Maldonado and I met last year through a mutual acquaintance and have become as close as brothers. As he has told me, “What’s mine is now yours. God wants me to partner with you for a harvest of one billion souls.” It is refreshing to see the willingness to serve that characterizes this humble servant of God.

In addition to leading people to Christ, these conferences will help strengthen the church. Sound teaching will empower leaders to spread the gospel worldwide. Because established congregations will follow up on decisions, new Christians won’t be left alone to become spiritual orphans. I hope such an important mission excites you as much as it does me, and that you will join me in broadening the impact of our ministry. Consider a special gift today. Every gift matters and is needed immediately in these last few days as we press forward to make this outreach a reality. Ask the Lord to guide your giving to help share the Gospel with someone in Argentina who doesn't know Jesus Christ.

In January, I had the privilege to be Pastor Adoboye's guest in Lagos, Nigeria, and catch a glimpse of the magnitude of what God can do on the earth with a man with a VISION from God. To witness 5 million people under one roof worshipping Jesus was not only inspiring, but also breathtaking!

Last week, I was given the great privilege of joining Ann Graham Lotz for a celebration of my HERITAGE in Nagaland, India. Growing up, Indian curry was always a staple of our family's holiday gatherings. My grandmother was born in Nagaland, the daughter of early missionaries (for 35 years) to the head-hunters. Seventeen tribes of head-hunters considered the most vicious people group on earth. My great-grandfather was credited for translating the Bible and restructuring the 17 tribal languages into one. They risked their lives, not thinking the comforts of America were enough to keep them from losing their lives for the sake of the Gospel.

Now, 100 years later, 1.8 million of the 2 million former head-hunters profess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! It is the GRACE of God that overwhelms me the most. Head-hunters, murderers, the least deserving, were considered worthy to die for – and me, in the midst of my filth! He who knew no sin became sin that we could become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. And now, there's a whole people group praying that their founder's great-grandson would be used to see India washed in the blood of Jesus.

Today, I humbly ask for your continued prayers…

June 5-11, I will be joining Apostle Maldonado (pastor of the largest Hispanic church in America) in Chaco, Argentina, for a crusade and the start of a partnership to bring the Gospel to Central and South America.

November 25 through December 4, I will be headed back to India for a crusade in the city of Srikakalum.

In 2013, I have been asked by the head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for Asia to begin doing crusades with them throughout northern India.

Bless you, and thank you for all your continued prayers and support!

What an amazing year as I just got back from Nagaland, India where my great-grandfather served for many years. I saw the fruit of his labor and the thousands of thousands of lives that have been changed because faithful people went out and proclaimed the gospel in Nagaland. What an honor to be part of that. I want to thank you for allowing me to go, and to encourage pastors, missionaries, and evangelists to keep up the work and to continue to reach all of India.

As I look back on this year, I'm completely humbled by what God is doing. This has been one of the most amazing ministry years we've had in a long time. It started the first of the year at the largest church in the world with Pastor Adoboye (see our blog posts 2 Million Chairs! and We Are Home From Nigeria.) And then to be able to go to India, to Nagaland! Wow!

Now looking ahead to Argentina with Pastor Maldonado. He has one of the largest Hispanic churches in the world, an amazing ministry and credibility in Latin America. I am excited to be able to go and share the stage with him and to proclaim the gospel and see lives changed in Latin American. This will be the first time we’ve worked into Latin America. We are also actively preparing for Srikakalum, to go and proclaim the gospel in the stadium, we know that the stadium holds 10's of thousands of people. That many lives are going to be changed and churches are going started because of this work. I'm humbled by that.

I humbled that you stand with me, with your prayers and financial support. We are a team, and God has brought us together for a reason. Together we're going to see lives changed and transformed. What an amazing year, and what an amazing team. I just thank you for standing with me.

God Bless You,

Pete

We explored some of my heritage during my recent trip to Nagaland, India. It is very humbling to see the fruit and place where my Great-grandparents and grandma were for so many years. There are so many people in their 90's coming up to me saying they knew my ancestors and they cry when they talk about them. Literally a people groups of 2 million former head-hunters are now 90% Christians (governmentt and everything).

It is an honor to be here with Anne Graham Lotz. I found out that not only did my Great-grandfather translate the bible and start the schools and churches, he literally structured the language that all the people still use today. It's cool to think there's a people group who are diligently praying for their founders great-grandson to evangelize India and the world.

Excerpt from handwritten note (early 1900's by Joseph E. Tanquist – my great-grandfather) after traveling with wife Mabel through rain soaked jungle…

"need of a swimming pool – the showers are copious this morning & we may be in for a good soaking. But, "All things work together for good to those that love the Lord." whether our days are many or few, may they under God's direction be filled with devoted & far-reaching service for the added spread of God's word & the upbuilding of the glorious church of Jesus Christ among Naga tribes."

Please enjoy these pictures of my trip as you join me in praying for the people of India.

On a bus with Pastor Robert (head of Billy Graham assoc. Asia), Anne Graham Lotz, & Bishop Ernest Komanapalli (head of Manna Ministries) – all of which are incredibly humble ministers of our Lord Jesus Christ!!

Linguistic school that my great-grandfather started. He is the one who structured all of the tribal languages of Nagaland into one.

The ancient well my great-grandparents used for cooking & drinking. It is easy to take the little things for granted!

The street named after my great-grandparents runs through the village by the same name and runs into Billy Graham Rd.

Current pastors of the church my great-grandparents were apart of – presenting two books about my heritage. It is humbling to catch a true glimpse of the reality – I didn't choose the path I'm on, but God so graciously has chosen and ordained someone that is unqualified, untrained and uses me inspite of myself, not because of me! I praise God for His grace and all that have have prayed so diligently!

A celebration of where the Nagas came from – Head-hunters! Only God can take a man and use him to see a whole tribal land of Head-hunters washed in the blood of Jesus!!

I am overwhelmed at the grace and mercy of God and His love for the sinner, the head-hunter, and me! Thank you for all your prayers – we reached over 11,000 people, with many who had turned away and hundreds responded to Christ! Anne Graham Lotz so graciously invited me for dinner after the service. She was very encouraging and a huge blessing!

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (April 1, 2012) – The great-grandson of a missionary who helped spread Christianity in northeast India has been invited to speak to the 75th anniversary celebration of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) April 19-22 in Kohima, Nagaland. Knoxville chiropractor Dr. Pete Sulack is a descendant of Joseph E. Tanquist, a missionary to Nagaland from 1913 to 1947. The conference keynote speaker is internationally-renowned evangelist Anne Graham Lotz.

The owner of Exodus Chiropractic, one of the world’s largest chiropractic clinics, Dr. Sulack is a marketplace minister and founder of Matthew 10 Ministries. Organized in 2004, its goal is to bring 100 million people into a personal relationship with Christ. The ministry sponsors evangelistic outreach festivals in major cities across India and has provided housing and education for 150 children orphaned by the Southeast Asia tsunami in 2004.

A state in northeast India with approximately 1.5 million people, in the late 1800s many Indians considered tribal-oriented Nagaland one of the most dangerous places in the world. However, NBCC General Secretary L. Anko Keikung said after the first church opened in 1872, the gospel spread rapidly. Today approximately 65 percent of the population is Christian and Nagaland is home to more than 1,500 Baptist churches.

“We owe it to God and His servants, who have faithfully presented the gospel, for all the blessings we enjoy today,” says Reverend Keikung. “We fondly remember Reverend Tanquist, whose work in the Kohima Field still makes ripples as those whose lives have been transformed continue to impact our society.”

“I am delighted to return to the place where my great-grandfather played a key role in spreading the gospel,” says Dr. Sulack, who visits India regularly to speak and teach. “Tanquist Missionary Museum, which celebrates the growth of Christianity in this land, is named after him. I recently learned that many religious historians consider what happened in Nagaland in the 19th century to be the greatest revival to ever hit the earth.”

According to oral historians, the first missionary to travel to an indigenous tribe there could only communicate via a bamboo cross. A tribal leader took him captive and told the missionary to break the cross over his knee if he wanted to live. The missionary replied in what became the words of a well-known hymn, “I have decided to follow Jesus; no turning back, no turning back.” After five natives also were slain after they picked up the cross, the leader halted the bloodshed and declared, “There is power in this cross. Every time someone touches it they are willing to die.”

“When my cousin, Tracy Boyd, visited Nagaland a few years ago, a man more than 100 years old told her that he knew my grandmother and great-grandparents,” Dr. Sulack says. “He said that a group of natives had prayed every day for the past century that Joseph Tanquist’s descendants be used to bring the gospel to India and the world—which I am doing. It is only by God’s grace and the prayers of righteous people in Nagaland that we have been given this favor to preach.”

Dr. Sulack has presented the gospel to an estimated 2.5 million people since he started Matthew 10 Ministry, with many accepting Christ and experiencing healing. The ministry has started 130 new churches in India since 2007, while existing churches have expanded by more than 1,000 members after following up on decisions made at his evangelistic festivals.
