When Revelation Comes

People from all different time periods have claimed to be gods or saviors. They lived, they died, and their followers eventually dispersed. But Jesus fills a unique place in history as a person who not only claimed to be God, but is also regarded as a teacher and a wise man instead of a lunatic.

But the time that Jesus lived in was a time like any other. People not only looked at you funny if you claimed to be God, but it was considered a spiritual crime punishable by death. Then how did Peter come to say to Jesus, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God,” (Matthew 16:16 KJV)? What made Peter risk it all, even to the point of giving up his own life for the cause of his Lord Jesus Christ?

It was a revelation from God that came by hearing God’s voice. In spite of what the world was telling Peter, and what the world threatened to do to him for following a man like Jesus, he believed because of the revelation that he received from hearing the voice of God.

Please check for updates on my blog to learn more about listening to and fellowshipping with the voice of God. I’ll share more elements from my book, Fellowshipping with His Voice, on a weekly basis. I pray that it’s a blessing and encouragement to you!
